Maisie Evison Newspots Image
Maisie Evison has returned to the Nottingham Wildcats for season 2023-24 after a successful time at Rollins College in Florida.  The former Wildcats mini-baller and Nottingham Academy Wildcats graduate is an excellent addition to the new-look Wildcats’ backcourt.

Evison is not new to the WBBL as she spent most of her senior year at the NAW, as part of the Wildcats WBBL team, making valuable contributions off the bench.  Evison, a renowned 3pt shooter is also tough at the defensive end, which fits the mould Coach Burton is trying to create at the Wildcats.

Coach Burton had this to say about the returning NAW graduate. “I am super excited for Maisie to be rejoining the club. As a junior player here, she knows how important the cultural side of our vision is. She is a tough kid with a great work ethic, and I am really happy she is back.”

Maisie is taking a year out from her studies before looking to enrol at the University of Nottingham in September 2024, so she could be around the Wildcats set-up for some considerable time to come.  A prospect that makes having a well-developed junior programme at the club worth the investment of club professionals and volunteers alike.

The last word must go to Evison regarding her return. “I am ready to bring a better game to this team, compared to before I left for the States. I’m definitely looking forward to this season. I’ve played under Karen before and knowing how knowledgeable she is I’m excited to be working with Karen again and push this program further. It feels good to be home!”
