We are proud to announce that local homeless charity, Emmanuel House, has committed to sponsoring captain Mari Stewart for the 2023/24 BBL season.
Emmanuel House is an independent Nottingham based charity supporting people who are homeless, rough sleeping, in crisis or at at the risk of homelessness. The charities purpose is to tackle the issues that surrounding people who are vulnerable by providing a service that is inclusive and compassionate.
CEO Denis Tully said of the partnership: “We’re absolutely delighted that Emmanuel House is being supported to sponsor Nottingham Wildcats’ Mari this year, we look forward to a wonderful partnership which I am confident will raise awareness of our local charity and help us to tackle homelessness in Nottingham”
The charity has a day centre situated in Hockley where basic everyday essentials such as foo, clothing, toilets and warm showers are provided. The centre also provide 1-to-1 meetings and wellbeing activities while also running a charity shop to raise funds crucial to providing the much needed support. During the winter, Emmanuel House runs a Winter Shelter for those who are rough sleeping.
Wildcats Chairman Chris Prior said of the partnership: “Mari will be a great ambassador for Emmanuel House and the Wildcats basketball programme. The Wildcats club and Trust fully support the charity in their work with the homeless people of Nottingham”
