Essex collected their first Championship points of the season in style, taking down BA London Lions 91-57 on the road. Jessy Ward’s game-high 28 points proved the catalyst for the visitor’s victory.
Elsewhere, Georgia Ohrdorf’s 25 points powered Newcastle into the next round of the Cup. The reigning Molten WBBL Player of the Month led the home team to a 63-52 win against Manchester Mystics.
Sheffield produced a dominant display to down high-flying Nottingham Wildcats 76-54 to take the final place in the Cup Semi-Final. Asha Thomas poured in a game-high 27 points for the home team.
