Liburd lands WBBL Coach of the Month gong

They are flying high at the top of the WBBL Championship table and after also sailing into the Semi-Finals of the Betty Codona WBBL Trophy, it’s not a surprise that Nottingham Wildcats’ playcaller Kenrick Liburd has been rewarded for his start to the new season.

He has been named as the Molten WBBL Coach of the Month after guiding his team to a flawless 6-0 record during the first weeks of the campaign.

Nottingham tipped off the opening weekend at Essex with a pair of victories in the Trophy, firstly seeing off BA London Lions 70-53 and then Manchester Mystics 69-53 to reach the last four of the competition.

After making it past the opening round of the WBBL Cup by beating Caledonia Pride 76-53, Wildcats then turned their attention to the WBBL Championship and so far, have racked up a 3-0 league record after wins against Caledonia Pride (75-58), Peterman FLT Hatters (84-70) and Cardiff Met Archers (67-45).

Liburd had to fight off competition from Len Busch to take the honour, with Sevenoaks Suns also unbeaten so far with 5 wins in all competitions.
