Nottingham Wildcats earned a dramatic 73-75 victory over Caledonia Pride at Grangemouth Sports Complex, thanks a buzzer-beating three from Chelsey Shumpert.
After it had appeared Pride’s Tia Weledji had won the game for the home team, an additional 4.6 seconds was added to the game clock – the result of a substitute having not been put into the game ahead of the final possession. That was enough time for Shumpert to bank in the game-winner and seal victory for the away team.

Turning point – Chelsey Shumpert came up clutch for the visitors, hitting several key shots down the stretch. The biggest came at the death, banking in the game-winning three as the shot clock expired.
Key stat – In a game of fine margins, the Wildcats managed to win the rebounding battle by six – collecting 15 offensive rebounds. A key factor that resulted in Nottingham outscoring Pride in the paint.
Game hero – Chelsey Shumpert poured in a game-high 32 points and added seven rebounds. The impressive guard came to life in the fourth quarter to propel her team to victory.
